This is the personal website of Dr. Junkyung Kay.

I am a Data Assimilation Scientist at the NSF National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR), Earth Observing Laboratory (EOL). My research investigates the dynamics of the atmospheric boundary layer, the initiation and evolution of convection, the development of precipitation systems, and the variability of cloud microphysical processes by assimilating diverse observations, including radar, lidar, Mesonet, and aircraft data. I am also actively engaged in the development of multiscale data assimilation frameworks and in applying AI/ML methodologies to optimize the integration of atmospheric observations.
